In late 2023, I was hanging out with a wedding planner friend who looked like she was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. I asked her what she was doing. She told me she spent three to four hours every single Friday night opening her clients' Pinterest boards, right-clicking on individual images, hitting "Save As," naming the file, and sorting them into local folders.
She was doing this for hundreds of images. Every week. Her index finger was literally cramping.
When I sat down at her laptop and showed her how batch extraction tools work, she actually got mad at me. Not for showing her, but for letting her suffer manually for almost two years.

Why Bulk Downloading is Tricky
Pinterest intentionally doesn't offer a "Download Entire Board" button. From their perspective, they want you to stay on the app, scrolling through ads. Letting you download a 500-pin board to a ZIP file offline means you don't need their app anymore.

Browser extensions are perfect for this because they run locally in your authenticated session. This means if you are logged into your Pinterest account, the extension can access your Private and Secret boards—something most web-based downloaders simply cannot do.

1. Find a reputable Board Downloader on the Chrome Web Store. Always check the recent reviews; Pinterest changes their code frequently, and extensions break if the developer abandons them.
2. Navigate to the specific Board. Don't do this from your general feed. Go directly to pinterest.com/username/board-name.
3. Trigger the Extension. Most tools will ask you to scroll to the bottom of the board first so they can "see" all the images (because of lazy loading), then they will bundle everything into a .zip file.
A Warning About Quality
Here is a massive caveat that most bulk tools won't tell you: speed usually sacrifices quality.
When a tool scrapes 300 images in ten seconds, it is almost certainly downloading the 236x or 736x resolution thumbnails—the compressed images meant to load quickly on your phone screen. If you are printing these images for a physical mood board or analyzing fine design details, they will look pixelated.
If you need the ultra-high definition original files (the originals directory on Pinterest's CDN), bulk tools often struggle.
